Men's Tennis Suffers Road Loss To No. 28 Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (13-9) suffered a 7-0 loss at No. 28 Notre Dame (15-12) Sunday afternoon at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
Collin Rigney paired up with teammate Nemanja Guzina and were the first twosome off the court for the Cardinals. The duo fell to Richard Ciamarra and Brendon Kempin by a score of 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. After that, Tom Carney and Chris Adams dropped a 6-2 decision at the No. 3 spot to Drew Dawson and Nathan Griffin to give Notre Dame the early 1-0 advantage.
In singles action, Notre Dame took all six matches from the Cardinals all in straight sets. The Irish clinched the match after Griffin earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles against Bryce Bonin.
The Ball State men's tennis team will close its regular season at home next weekend when it plays Binghamton Saturday and Buffalo Sunday both at 1 p.m. The matches are set to be played at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center, weather permitting.
