Athletes/Teams become eligible for Hall of Fame nomination 10 years after graduation or withdrawal from Ball State University and must have earned at least two letters in one sport or one letter in at least two sports. Nominated members of the University staff must have served the University for a minimum of five years. An outstanding career as an athlete or staff member must be complemented by an exemplary career in the individual’s profession or occupation, a record which reflects credit to the person and the University. Former student-athletes become eligible for The Legends Category 30 years after graduation or withdrawal from Ball State University. The criteria are the same as the Hall of Fame.Â
Election to the Hall of Fame requires a 75 percent vote by the Hall of Fame Committee present at the voting meeting. A team may be considered for induction as one of the inductees. The Ball State Athletics Hall of Fame inducted its first team in 2011.
To nominate a candidate for induction, contact Paula Haughn (pmhaughn@bsu.edu; 765-285-8927) or CLICK HERE. Nominations for each category are due AUGUST 1 each year. Nominations submitted after the due date will be moved for review the following year.
