Charlie's Reading Challenge

Ball State’s Charlie Cardinal wants to reward your students for reading!
When your elementary school joins Charlie’s Reading Challenge, your students can earn two free tickets to a Ball State athletics event!
Challenge Details:
- Elementary schools are eligible to participate.
- The Fall 2021 challenge will take place between Sept. 6 and Oct. 5.
- Each student will be asked to read 4 books at their reading level (each school determines appropriate reading selections) and complete an assignment (teacher's discretion) corresponding to the readings by Oct. 5.
- Progress will be tracked in each classroom using posters (regular size) provided by Ball State Athletics.
- On Oct. 5, the designated school representative will tally the number of students who have successfully completed the challenge and send the total to Suzie Jones at Ball State University.
- Ball State Athletics will provide a keepsake bookmark to each student who completes the program. Information on how to redeem tickets for the October 23rd Ball State Football Game or the Ball State Women’s Volleyball match on October 30th will be sent to the school representative to share with participants.
We appreciate those schools who have participated in the past and look forward to having you again. The reading program has quickly grown and we don't want to stop there! If this is your first time participating in CRC, we are excited to have you in the program!
