Trying to stay in the fight, a block solo from Lucas Machado and a Trojan attack error put Ball State within striking distance at 22-24, but USC was able to close the first on a 25-22 kill.Â
After dropping the first set, the Cardinals were never quite able to build enough momentum to slow the USC team. The Trojans took set two 25-17 and closed the match on a 25-19 final frame.Â
