MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team returns home after a long three-game weekend in California. The Cardinals will welcome Saint Francis University on Friday at 1 pm ET and Lock Haven on Sunday at 11 am ET. Admission is free for both events at the Briner Sports Complex.

Ball State is looking to get back on the winning track as it enters the weekend with a 1-4 ledger after falling to Stanford (0-6), UC Davis (4-5) and Cal (0-3).

The Cardinals will first take on SFU Friday. BSU holds a 3-2 record against Red Flash in its last five contests. Last season, Ball State dropped a 3-2 overtime heartbreaker to SFU. Returnee Emma van Hal registered two goals against the Red Flash that game. SFU enters the play a 2-2 overall ledger.

On Sunday, Ball State will take on Lock Haven to close out the weekend. The two teams have met twice since 2021 and hold an even 1-1 record versus one another. Ball State won its last matchup over the Bald Eagles on Sept. 10, 2023, by a score of 2-1 in Pennsylvania. Lock Haven brings a 0-4 mark to Muncie.

This weekend's contest will celebrate international student day on Friday and community day on Sunday.

The Cardinals hit the road again next weekend for two contests beginning with their Mid-American Conference opener on Friday, Sept. 19 at 2 pm ET versus Longwood and will then play a non-conference game at Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 1 pm ET.
